Why Little Steps
What Sets Us Apart?
We know embarking on child care options for the first time can be daunting, so we are here to help! This page is designed to give you a clear picture of our program and support you as you explore what feels right for your child and family.
Quality early childhood care plays an important role in supporting children’s physical, social, and emotional development. Wherever your search leads you, we appreciate the care and intention you’re putting into finding the best start for your child!
A Home Away From Home
We know choosing child care can feel emotional and a little overwhelming. Leaving your child with someone new is a big deal. When families walk into Little Steps, we want them to feel comfortable right away—welcomed, supported, and like they belong.
Our centres are warm, calm, and designed with children in mind. You’ll find cozy spaces, soft colours, natural materials, and thoughtfully set-up classrooms that invite children to play, explore, and just be kids.
Above all, we focus on creating a safe, nurturing, and home-like environment where children feel settled and cared for. Our educators are intentional and kind, taking the time to build trust and make each child feel secure—so Little Steps truly feels like a home away from home.
We understand that every family’s needs are different, and we work hard to make transitions smooth, routines comforting, and days predictable in the best way.
This is why families stay with Little Steps for years—because their children feel happy here, and parents feel confident they’re in the right place.
We Have An Open Door Policy
Families are a big part of life at Little Steps. We love when parents are involved, ask questions, share feedback, and feel comfortable being part of their child’s day.
Our open-door policy means you’re always welcome to stop in—whether that’s to check in on your child, connect with educators, or simply see how the day is going. We know how hard it can be to leave your child in someone else’s care, and being able to pop in can make a big difference.
This openness helps build trust and keeps communication honest and transparent. When families feel confident and connected, children benefit too.
You’ll never be left wondering how your child’s day went—we believe in strong communication and sharing the moments that matter, both big and small.
So, whether you’re joining us for a special event, volunteering on a field trip, or just stopping by for a quick hello or hug, families are always welcome at Little Steps!

We Support Our Teams
Great child care starts with a well-supported team. When educators feel valued, respected, and backed by leadership, it shows in everything they do. That’s why we have a strong, experienced management team focused on supporting our educators so they can focus on what matters most—being present with your child.
Our educators bring a wide range of experience and a shared passion for early childhood. They create hands-on, play-based environments that are thoughtful, engaging, and centered around each child. All Little Steps educators are Alberta certified and hold current First Aid and Police Clearances.
We work hard to create a workplace where educators feel appreciated, supported, and comfortable being themselves. When people feel good about where they work, they stay, they grow, and they bring their best to the classroom—and that’s something families feel every day!
